Dirichlet Sampled Capacity and Loss Estimation for LV Distribution Networks With Partial Observability

نویسندگان

چکیده

With low voltage (LV) distribution networks increasingly being re-purposed beyond their original design specifications to accommodate carbon technologies, the ability accurately calculate actual spare capacity is critical. Traditionally, within Great Britain (GB) power system, there has been limited monitoring of LV networks, making this difficult. This paper proposes a method for estimating unmonitored using demand data from customer Smart Meters. In particular, proposed infers existing network capacity, as well losses, across scenarios where only number customers have Meters installed. Typical daily load profiles with are learned Dirichlet sampled Gaussian mixture model (GMM). Learned then applied all unmetered estimate parameters. Method accuracy assessed by comparing estimations simulated, fully observed, models. The also compared benchmark models establishing unobserved profiles. Overall, results in show that outperforms terms assessing substation headroom, particularly 10–50%

Parameter Estimation for the Dirichlet-Multinomial Distribution

In the 1998 paper entitled Large Cluster Results for Two Parametric Multinomial Extra Variation Models, Nagaraj K. Neerchal and Jorge G. Morel developed an approximation to the Fisher information matrix used in the Fisher Scoring algorithm for finding the maximum likelihood estimates of the parameters of the Dirichlet-multinomial distribution. They performed simulation studies comparing the res...

H∞ Sampled-Data Controller Design for Stochastic Genetic Regulatory Networks

Artificially regulating gene expression is an important step in developing new treatment for system-level disease such as cancer. In this paper, we propose a method to regulate gene expression based on sampled-data measurements of gene products concentrations. Inherent noisy behaviour of Gene regulatory networks are modeled with stochastic nonlinear differential equation. To synthesize feed...

Timed Control with Partial Observability

We consider the problem of synthesizing controllers for timed systems modeled using timed automata. The point of departure from earlier work is that we consider controllers that have only a partial observation of the system that it controls. In discrete event systems (where continuous time is not modeled), it is well known how to handle partial observability, and decidability issues do not diff...

Maximum Likelihood Estimation of Dirichlet Distribution Parameters

The Dirichlet distribution is one that has often been turned to in Bayesian statistical inference as a convenient prior distribution to place over proportional data. To properly motivate its study, we will begin with a simple coin toss example, where the task will be to find a suitable distribution P which summarizes our beliefs about the probability that the toss will result in heads, based on...

Planning with Extended Goals and Partial Observability

Planning in nondeterministic domains with temporally extended goals under partial observability is one of the most challenging problems in planning. Simpler subsets of this problem have been already addressed in the literature, but the general combination of extended goals and partial observability is, to the best of our knowledge, still an open problem. In this paper we present a first attempt...
